Baby Shower Time
This summer Kara gets to meet two new baby boy cousins. My sister, Katie, is due in July and my sister-in-law Dawn is due in August. How fun for us!!!
This past weekend we threw Dawn a baby shower. Here are some pictures of the fun, Veggie Tales decorations.

And the coolest part...the cake. Yes that's the cake made by a local baker.

And for those of you who are queasy, don't look at the next picture:
Poor Bob! (I tried to warn you). Luke took some better pictures with his camera but he hasn't downloaded them yet. I'll have to post again some more of the shower.

You have to see this!
My talented cousin, Sherah, took some amazing pictures of my beautiful sisters, Erin and Michelle, who are graduating from high school! You just have to go to Sherah's blog and click on the slide show.
(For those in my family who were momentarily excited because I actually posted but then were disappointed because they have already seen the gorgeous pictures....I don't have anything to say but "busy, busy, busy.")
Hopefully I'll have another post of my sister-in-law's baby shower this weekend. Here's a sneak peak of the theme:

The Real Deal
While it wasn't awful, it surely didn't hit the spot. Then I laughed when I realized I had bananas and Cheerios (an off brand) so I could have a much better breakfast. Ahhh well....live and learn.

Christmas in May
I bought this Gingerbread house kit in January 90% off because we had so much fun making our own last December.
We finally pulled it out of the pantry and tried it last week. Here's the result.

At least now I know to make my own from graham crackers. This kit only had three types of candy, and I never got the icing to work quite right. The only real plus is that the house was pre-made. But when we made them in December, everyone had different shapes to their houses which added to the fun.

Branson pt.3 (and final)
One of the best parts of Branson was the fish hatchery. We learned a lot (thanks to a very eye-opening trout movie) and were entertained by watching the kids feed the different sizes of trout. And it was super cheap (free except for the .25 a cup for the fish food!)
Here's some pictures from that day.

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the beautiful Horizons by Marriott resort that we stayed. I wish we would have gone when the outdoor pool was open. But it was very nice. We had a great vacation in Branson without going to any shows and only going out to eat once.
Here's some pictures from that day.

Popsicle time
Kara's new favorite snack is homemade popsicles. Part of the reason she enjoys them, is that she "helps" me make them. We pour water and apple juice into these molds I got from Ikea. Healthy and delicious! My kind of snack. I wish I could find something I enjoyed like that!

Branson, pt. 1
We went to Branson a few weeks ago with my family. On our way we stopped in Springfield to visit the Bass Pro Shop. Here are some pictures.

Kara did a great job taking pictures until a "stranger" (as she put it) wanted to take a picture of the whole family. Then look what happened!!

I wanted a family picture (even though we all looked so "glamorous" from a day in the car) because 4 years ago we took this one:
