I got this tip from our Neuro Muscular Theapist. When she would have me lay on my back, she put a round (hot dog shaped) pillow under my knees.I thought...I wonder if that's the best way to lay on your back. And since I'm a back sleeper, I tried it.
No more back pain.

I'll have to pass that tip on to my husband. I'll try it too, if I sleep on my back with my legs straight then my legs fall asleep.
