Harvest Days

Luke asked me if there was something fun we could do as a family on Saturday (which was a GORGEOUS day).  I remembered seeing info about Highland's Homestead Harvest Days...So we went.  I LOVE spontaneous fun!!

Kara tried out various fire engines....

Got to ride a pony (named Buck)

Micah just kinda "hung" out...

We learned about cannonballs...

 Covered wagons...

And she got to ride on a "train"...

American Girl comes to St. Louis

Kara has been diligently saving every penny she got for birthday, Christmas and chores to buy a "real" American Girl doll.  She received an "Our Generation" doll from Target (an 18" knock-off doll) for Christmas 2010 and quickly realized she wanted the real thing.

After lots of saving and hard work she had the moolah saved (gulp...it's a lot!)  And wonders of wonders, a new store opened up not far from us.  Here are some pics of the excursion to get "Ruthie" (Kit's best friend for those who speak Amercian Girl) and have a nice tea with her new doll.

Micah and Aunt Michelle joined us!

Kara pays for her own purchase!

Drinking tea (hot cocoa) and Ruthie has her own chair and cup!
Micah, a little out of place with all the pink around but still a happy boy :)

Her afternoon tea included lots of yummy sandwiches, fruit and desserts.
Aunt Shell chose the "picnic platter."

All in all, a GREAT day!  And we have "Ruthie" the newest member of our family!

Papa and Grandpa

Kara and Micah are blessed children indeed.  They have MANY aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, great-grandparents and countless others to dote on them!  This post is dedicated to a very special Papa
 and a very special Grandpa.
Both are great and loved by Kara and Micah!

Welcome, Micah Thomas!

On August 5th, 2011, Micah Thomas was born at 9:21pm. At 8 weeks early, he came out screaming (yeah!) and weighed 4lbs 11oz. He was 17 inches long!

Micah spent 21 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit mostly learning how to eat. We are delighted that he is home now and we are together as a family!

Big sister, Kara, is a big help and LOVES her brother a bunch!

Branson 2011 Part One

Our family took a trip to Branson recently. The kids had lots of fun in the pool...
Kara could stay there all day (and almost did!)
Here is a trip to the fish hatchery. The kids can feed the trout and learn about the hatchery from a movie and hands on activities.

Cousins...Sisters...
More to come...

Good times with the Roco boys

My sister, Katie, came down to see us with her two boys for a quick visit. Even though it was short, we packed in a lot of fun.

We started by celebrating Robbie's upcoming 3rd (!) birthday. I think we did well with the Handy Manny talking toy with tools :0)
Then we took them to Marcoot Dairy Farm:

The moms enjoyed the delicious ice cream from the farm. No picture because we ate it while the kids were sleeping...shhhhhhhh ;)

Then on this cold but not too cold day, we took them to the park.

All in all it was a great time for the cousins :)

Aunt Tricia

My sister came to visit this past weekend. We had a lot of fun!

Most notably...we visited the DeMoulin Museum...

And ate Pumpkin Pie and Halloween Harvest ice cream from Marcoot Dairy Farm...
Yum...
