Operation Christmas Child

Kara and I had a lot of fun packing this shoebox for Operation Christmas Child. See...

This is her new smile...what do you think? I'd better work on that before Christmas pictures.

Busy, busy, busy

Sorry there's no new pictures of Kara up...

I've been busy with two things:
1. This game
2.

If you want to join a discussion about this book with me, see Crystal.

I recommend both!

Bride/Flower Girl

Kara loves to play bride. She's been to quite a few weddings in her short life. But one day, I was explaining to her how when a bride gets married she doesn't live with her parents anymore and she changes her name. (What was I thinking, I know!!!) She got pretty scared and said that she doesn't want to be a bride, she thinks she'll just be a flower girl. So here's our cute bride/flower girl!

Oh and she also said she wants to live with me forever. That made me pretty happy :)

Nana's Sweater2

I was searching and searching for a picture of Kara wearing Nana's sweater and Luke found it today somewhere back in the recesses of our computer. (Good thing he knows what he's doing with this newfangled machine!) These were taken right around Kara's first birthday.

You scream, ICE scream

As part of our great cousins weekend, we made our own ice cream. For the recipe, click here.

Here's some picture of the process. Yummy!! Of course we had to add sprinkles!

Nana's Sweater

Sometime when my mom was in high school, she made a light green sweater. Every one of the babies born from me on wore it. It just so happened that until Robbie, all the babies were girls. I told my sister that light green is a gender neutral color, but she said that when Robbie wears yellow or green, people think he's a girl. I tried to prove her wrong...what do you think?
What do you think, he's thinking?

Believe Me!

This weekend, we had a great time with my sister, Katie and her family. In these clips, I tried to capture Sophia "conducting" Robbie. Before I got the camera out, when Sophia waved her arms like a conductor, Robbie (7 months) sang a little tune. When she was done, he stopped. These two clips show some of what happened.

WFMW-Hulaballoo

This is one of Kara's all time favorite games. She's been playing it since last Christmas when Aunt Katie bought it for her. But recently she got a little sad because she said "Mom, I can't play Hullabaloo anymore because it says 4 and I'm only 3."
I told her it was probably ok to play it even though she wasn't 4 years old. :)

This game "works for me." For more reviews on toys, see Shannon at Rocks in My Dryer.

Good Reminder

We as Christians have an important job today (and always).

While it's super important to vote...we must remember that:

Ephesians 6:12 (New International Reader's Version)

12 Our fight is not against human beings. It is against the rulers, the authorities and the powers of this dark world. It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world.

So the critical place for us is on our knees today (and everyday).

No matter the outcome, we must "see the cross before us" and "keep on pressing on."

Thanks, Jana and Kara for that great reminder!
